JAKARTA, Indonesia — May 9, 2023 — CoLearn, an Indonesia-based education platform combining AI-aided homework help with cohort-based live classes, today hosted a delegation of executives from Innova Schools and Intercorp, both operating primarily in Peru and across South America, as part of IDEO’s annual executive immersion program. The visit gave CoLearn’s guests a close look at how the platform has approached one of the central challenges in education innovation: delivering quality learning at scale.
The Innova Schools and Intercorp leaders were in Jakarta as part of a broader search for innovative approaches to education delivery that could inform their own work across Peru and the wider region. CoLearn’s session walked the visiting executives through its perspective on the underlying drivers of low education performance in Indonesia, and the combination of solutions the company built in response: AI-aided homework help paired with cohort-based, teacher-led live classes designed to sustain long-term student motivation.
Beyond the strategic overview, the session also gave visiting leaders a behind-the-scenes look at the operational work underpinning CoLearn’s growth to millions of monthly active users, including a peak of 4.3 million in November 2022 — offering a practical, ground-level complement to the higher-level discussion of strategy and product design.
CoLearn thanked IDEO for organizing the exchange as part of its executive immersion program, and described the visit as a valuable opportunity to compare notes with education leaders working on similar problems in a different regional context.
